Dry Hands and Nails?

We all want beautiful and well manicured hands, so this is some of my personal tips and favorites. Now a do have a lot of tips and tricks you can do - these are just a few easy things you can do at home to get these soft and silky hands, so that we don't have to go out and spend a fortune at a salon. We can easily use the money on something else, like..... Shoes maybe? ;)

#1 Washing your hands: When you're washing your hands make sure to wash all of the soap off, because if you don't there will be residue left and that will cause your skin to dry out even more! And hey.... That is not what we are looking for are we?!

#2 Desinfection: if youre one of those who's a big user of hand sanitizer, you need to listen to this! The alcoholic sanitizer are extremely drying for your skin, if you can't live without it, please do try to keep the use of it to a minimum, and follow with a good hand cream.

#3 Hand cream: are extremely important and highly recommended if you want to have those silky soft hands and healthy nails. You should really try to use it every time you wash your hands, the water strips your skin of moisture, so please be sure to reapply after hand washes. My own personal al time favorite is Clarins hand and nail treatment cream, i keep this on my bedside table so i can apply right before bedtime. Now it's really up to you to find what ever works for you, and one last tip? Try having one in your purse as well, so you can use it during the day.

#4 Nailing it: our nails are a big part of our hands, some like their nails short and some can't get them long enough, but we can all agree on that we all like well manicured hands. While it's a good first step to use a good hand cream, and that will definitely go along way, but if it isn't enough. Try to heat a little olive oil in the microwave, just till it's little over room temperature - not boiling hot obviously! And then soak your nails and cuticles for about 10-15 min, your cuticles will love you for it! Do this once a week. On a more regular and day to day basis, you should use a great nail/cuticle oil or cream. My absolute favorite is the CND Solaroil, use this after your hand cream before bed and massage it in, in your cuticles.

Thanks for reading, hope you'll find it helpful.

Dry and Chapped lips?!

If you're one of those "lucky" people like myself that suffer from "dry-chapped-lip-syndrome" here are some of my personal tips and a little for getting your lips "back in shape" so keep on reading!

#1 We all know how important water is for our bodies and guess what? Our lips thirst too so be sure to be well hydrated, it will help you a lot and go a long way.

#2 STOP licking your lips! If you think it help your wrong, it works in the exact opposite way! You know what happens to water when it's cold? Well... It freezes, so when you wet your lips, go outside it will cause you lips to freeze and then you will get even dryer lips. And what happens to water when it's hot? It evaporates, and will leave your lips thirsty for more - it's just a bad circle!

#3 Scrub Scrub Scrub!! If you're one of chose with dry flakey bits on your lips, try to exfoliate them. You can probably buy exfoliating lipbalms, I know Ole Henriksen makes one, it's his african red tea lip salvation(sooo good!) but if you're bore of a DIY person, you can make your own just simply mixing some olive oil(or what ever oil you have) and then some sugar, just mix it in a bowl and massage it on to your lips and finish with a balm.

#4 Use a lipbalm: now you know why you shouldn't lick your lips, use a good lipbalm to keep'em moist and plump. Many think that you can use Vaseline, well you CANT!! The Vaseline only seems soothing but there aren't any benefits, it won't penetrate it goes on like a film, which again in the end will cause your lips to dry out. Personally I like to use Tromborg lip cure by night, and at the moment I'm using a blistex in the daytime, but feel free to find what ever balm that works for you.

Thanks for reading I really hope you liked it? Please do comment if you have some great advice for those chapped lips, I'd love to read them and try them out!
